About Ashley
Ashley Abrahamson was a talented and dedicated student athlete who loved softball, basketball, and volleyball. Her positive attitude, outstanding work ethic, and coachability were all the result of her strong character and likable personality. She was a great team player and always wore a smile on her face.
At the age of 13, Ashley was tragically killed in a car accident in Illinois while on her way to Florida with family friends, the Brauns.
In the summer of 2000, Ron Tondryk, Ashley’s former coach, started the Ashley Abrahamson Memorial Tournament, as a way to honor and remember Ashley.
The tournament began with 8 teams and was first played at Sather Park in Scanlon, MN. The tournament relocated to Braun Park in Cloquet, MN upon its completion and has grown to 25 teams each year. The tournament is now directed by Ron and his daughter, Sarah Wondrasek, who was a friend and classmate of Ashley’s.
This is an outstanding tournament and your team will NOT be disappointed! This tournament offers great teams, great field staff, a beautiful park, and first class directors in Ron and Sarah. We look forward to being back this year!
Thank you to all the players, coaches, parents, families, friends, field staff, concession workers, and especially to Ron and Sarah for an outstanding tournament. Kathy and Jim Abrahamson
